Our step by step assembly guide can be found on the Lectec Academy. It includes pictures, small GIFs, and detailed instructions to make putting together your kit a breeze. We've built it so that kids can do it themselves if needed!

The skateboard and scooter can hold weights of up to 250lbs. Above ~150lbs you will begin to see a significant decrease in performance, ability to climb hills, and range. We recommend the Power+ Upgrade Pack above 150lbs and highly encourage it above 190lbs.

Yes, the kit is designed for users of all skill levels. It includes a comprehensive assembly manual, engaging educational games, and dynamic animated videos to guide you through the building process.

Safety is a top priority. The kit includes a built-in fire extinguisher inside the battery and offers safety and riding tutorial videos to ensure a secure experience. We also have a Release of Liability Waiver available for all organizations using Lectec.

After assembly, the skateboard can reach 8mph and the scooter 10mph. Both have a range of approximately 3 miles on a full charge (per battery). One battery is included in the kit as standard and more batteries can be purchased. They must be purchased at the time of ordering the kit. You cannot use 1 old battery and 1 new battery at the same time.

The assembly process typically takes between 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on your experience level. It is great to do as a family activity!

The kit provides all necessary parts and tools to build your own electric vehicle. You'll also find everything you need to ride, including a remote, battery charger, and remote charger. If you choose the optional safety pack you will receive an additional helmet, wrist guards, and elbow pads.

The fire extinguisher in the Lectec battery module is an automatic suppression system designed to mitigate thermal runaway in lithium-ion cells. If a battery cell overheats and ignites, the thermal fuse activates at 180°C (356°F), triggering a 57mm canister containing a fire suppression agent. The canister utilizes a potassium nitrate-based oxidant (50%-58% content), which, upon activation, releases a gasified fire suppressant to cool and extinguish the flames. The system has a reaction delay of 68 milliseconds before full discharge and is designed to protect an area of ≥0.02 cubic meters, this compact unit ensures rapid containment of fires within the battery enclosure. With a 10-year operational lifespan, this built-in safety mechanism provides reliable, maintenance-free protection for Lectec kits.
