here. This document outlines the necessary precautions, agreements, and acknowledgments for safely engaging with our products and programs, providing peace of mind to everyone involved.
What is the Purpose of the Liability Waiver?
Protect Participants: It clearly informs users about the proper usage of Lectec kits and ensures they acknowledge safety guidelines to minimize risks.
Safeguard Schools and Resellers: Partnering institutions and resellers are shielded from undue liability while offering Lectec products and programs.
Define Responsibilities: It sets clear expectations for all parties, outlining who is responsible for maintaining safety during use.

Our liability waiver is just one part of Lectec’s robust safety framework. From detailed instructional materials to built-in safety features in our products, we are committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Manufacturing
At Lectec, we take pride in the quality and integrity of our products, and that begins with how they are made. Our electric vehicle kits are manufactured in China, in facilities that meet strict ethical and humane standards. To ensure this, our CEO has personally vetted each factory, conducting thorough evaluations during on-site visits and maintaining ongoing relationships to ensure these standards are consistently upheld.
How We Ensure Ethical Practices:
Personal Inspections by Leadership Our CEO has traveled to each manufacturing facility, carefully reviewing their operations. This includes observing working conditions, assessing compliance with labor laws, and verifying that all workers are treated with respect and dignity.
Periodic Oversight We don’t just verify once; we commit to ongoing oversight. Through periodic visits, we maintain a direct line of communication with our manufacturing partners, ensuring continuous compliance with our standards.
Certified Ethical Standards Each factory we work with complies with international labor regulations, ensuring humane working hours, above market wages, and a safe working environment for all employees.
Why Not Manufacture in the USA?
High Costs: Manufacturing in the USA would increase costs by 10-20 times compared to China. This would make our products unaffordable for many schools and families, limiting access to the educational benefits they provide.
Specialty Components: Many of the components required for our electric kits are part of a highly specialized supply chain that is concentrated in China. This infrastructure is not yet available at scale in the USA, making it impossible to produce our kits domestically without significant delays and higher costs.

Rider Safety
We believe learning and fun go hand in hand with safety. Our electric kits are designed with multiple safety features and guidelines to ensure riders of all skill levels can enjoy their experience confidently and responsibly.
Comprehensive Rider Education
To help riders start safely, we’ve created a detailed instructional video that covers the basics of riding an electric skateboard. This video walks through everything from balance to braking, ensuring riders are well-prepared before their first ride. You can find it below.
Adjustable Speed Modes for All Skill Levels
Our electric vehicles are equipped with four speed modes, ranging from a beginner-friendly 3 mph (average walking speed) to a thrilling yet safe 8 mph. These modes allow users to progress at their own pace while maintaining control. (Note: speeds may increase if the gear ratio is modified.)
Built-In Hardware Safety Features
Fire Extinguisher Battery: Our batteries are designed with a built-in fire extinguisher for enhanced safety, offering peace of mind to schools and parents.
Additional Safety Enhancements: Each kit incorporates robust safety mechanisms to ensure durability and rider security during use.
Mandatory Helmet Use and Optional Safety Kit
Safety gear is non-negotiable when it comes to riding. Helmets are required for all riders, and we offer an optional safety kit that most schools choose to include. The kit contains a helmet and wrist guards.

Are Skateboards Dangerous?
The idea that skateboards are inherently dangerous is a common misconception. While traditional skateboards come with risks, electric skateboards are designed with features and usage habits that make them significantly safer, especially for students.
Why Electric Skateboards are Safer
No Pushing Required Traditional skateboarding involves constant pushing with one foot, requiring balance adjustments and increasing the risk of falls. Electric skateboards eliminate this need, allowing riders to maintain a stable stance throughout their ride.
No Tricks or Extreme Moves Unlike conventional skateboards, electric skateboards are not designed for tricks or stunts. Riders primarily use them for cruising, keeping their movements predictable and reducing the chance of accidents.
Controlled Speeds With four adjustable speed modes, riders can start as slow as 3 mph (average walking speed) and gradually increase to a safe yet fun 8 mph. These controlled speeds help new riders gain confidence without feeling overwhelmed.
Scooters: A Handlebar for Added Safety and Ease of Learning
For those who prefer additional stability, our electric scooter option is a great alternative. Scooters provide:
Handlebars for Balance Riders can hold onto handlebars, making it easier to steer and maintain control, especially for younger or less experienced users.
A Comfortable Learning Curve With the added support of handlebars, scooters are ideal for those who may feel hesitant about trying an electric skateboard. This option helps ease safety concerns while still offering the fun and educational benefits of electric vehicles.
