We had the pleasure of volunteering to present Lectec at the Pathways to STEM Night hosted by the CT Science Center, where we worked alongside incredible companies such as Otis Elevators, Cigna, ReadyCT, Makerspace CT, and many more! It was a fantastic event that brought together innovative minds to inspire students and families to explore the exciting world of STEM.
One of the highlights was seeing the impact was serving 139 students and family members from towns across Connecticut, including Hartford, West Hartford, Meriden, and more. The event gathered students with an average age of 14, and we were able to collect insightful feedback that reflects the growing enthusiasm for STEM. Notably:
- 97.5% of attendees now feel capable of pursuing a STEM career
- 95% feel well-informed about the resources available to help them on their STEM journey
- 82.5% see themselves actively pursuing a career in STEM
- 92.5% view STEM careers as interesting and desirable opportunities
We also had the honor of attending the Connecticut Science Teachers Association 2024 Conference! With the theme of “Connecting and Collaborating,” the conference served as a hub for educators passionate about enhancing STEM education through innovative teaching practices and community-building.
Our own Luke St. Amand presented on our innovative approach to learning by combining the thrill of building electric vehicles with the rigor of STEM education. Lectec's electric vehicle kits allow students to construct their own electric skateboard while gaining hands-on experience with real-world engineering, physics, and electronics concepts. These kits, complete with all necessary components, are paired with NGSS-aligned lesson plans available in an interactive format on our custom LMS.
We’re excited to take the ideas and connections made at this event and continue our mission to inspire students to pursue STEM careers, equipping them with the tools and confidence they need to thrive in the ever-evolving fields of science and technology.
